The Convulsif Quartet explores the tension between composition and improvisation by creating powerful, genre-blending sounds. With their unusual combination of instruments – namely violin, bass clarinet, electric bass, drums and plenty of electronics – the band fuses doom, dark jazz, black metal and noise into a dense, experimental blend characterised by conceptual improvisation, predefined structures and the raw energy of the contemporary underground rock scene.

The event takes place in collaboration with the Zurich Silent Film Festival, which is organised by the Filmpodium and the IOIC.
