Bella Comsom (Electronics, DIY Instruments), Mara Miccichè aka Iokoi (Voice, Electronics)

At the tender age of 22, Brazilian filmmaker and poet Mário Peixoto sets out to create a thoroughly poetic film. His film does not entirely dispense with narration, but it is always diffuse. The name “Limite”, meaning “boundary”, says it all. What holds the film together at its core is the constant reference to a different time and place, which takes place beyond the linearity imposed by the medium and outside the frame provided by the camera. Peixoto himself called his film a desperate cry for resonance, not for understanding.
This unjustly little-known masterpiece is set to music by Brazilian sound artist Bella Comsom on analogue electronics and self-built instruments, together with Zurich singer and live electronic musician Iokoi. The two exceptional musicians met in 2019 during an IOIC tour in São Paulo and are performing together for the first time at the Misterioso Jazz Club.
