Academics still argue about the origins and meaning of the word ‘Jazz’. From the 1910s onwards, it quite often also carries a sexual connotation. Jazz becomes a term not to be used in decent society.
On 30 April 2012, some hundred years later, UNESCO announces the first International Jazz Day to celebrate the artistic significance of Jazz, its roots and its importance for cultural developments wordwide.
On the occasion of the 2nd JazzDayFestival, IOIC invites you to remember the erotic roots of jazz with a late night programme. Nine short erotic silent films will be shown with live music performance by Omri Ziegele and Yves Theiler.
